I accept
I take on
I willingly do this thing.
You know..
That thing you would have me do
It's hard though
sometimes to do this thing
To be the woman that
I am called to be.
And yet,
When I see that you Lord
YOU manage all the details.
You mind my back.
You take care of enemies.
You are my source.
Then that reminder
Helps me all the more
to
Accept
Take on
Tackle
Bear
Shoulder
Whatever thing you ask of me.
I may do so imperfectly.
I may sometimes rail against it.
But when I reminded.
I sorrow in my heart
and again
I lift it up.
This thing you ask me to do.
This willingness to move.
This willingness to parent.
This willingness to write.
This willingness to .....
You know...
You know full well...
What you did....
And why I
Accept.

This is a five minute Friday post. the word prompt is brought to us by Miss Kate over at Five Minute Friday. What is Five Minute Friday? Well it's a party of a group of like minded folks who gather on Friday to do a five minute free write around a singular word. AND THEN (and this is the most important part) we take the time to offer up encouragement to each other on this writing journey. It's fun, though it's not always easy, but it is always good. Come join us won't you? You are always welcome.

Sometimes we don't understand, but we accept his call. Oh dear! I am so often unwilling.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind you at FMF this week.
Very true Christy.... but willing we need be
DeleteI am sometimes like a cranky toddler wanting to know why. God is patient with me. Even as He teaches the same lessons multiple times because I do not get it the first time.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Good way to put it. :)
DeleteThis is beautiful, Annette. And acceptance can be so very hard!
ReplyDeleteI don't struggle with it any more, the fact of dying; the job's been set, and it's mine. But my wife has the harder role, and she simply hates what's happening to me. She argues with God. A LOT.

Thanks Andrew, praying for your lady's peace
DeleteGreat post, Annette! It is so much easier to accept God's call when we remember that we are to do it in his strength, not our own.
ReplyDeleteThank you, very true
DeleteBeautiful! Remembering what He did always makes it easier to do what He asks!
ReplyDeleteIt does, doesn't it?
