Things I printed off for doing the Letter D Lapbook.
Diddle Diddle Dumpling
Dog Poem - might not use this though, might only take the pictures for letter D words.
D fan book -- I like the idea of this but I"m not crazy on the words/pictures. So will probably do something similar, but different.
D Files. Took the trifold hand, and the d is for drawing page.
Kidzone letter D poem. plus this one from the same site. Discover the picture.
Found this neat maze of the letter D.
My lad was quite intrigued by this different type of maze.

The Letter "C" Lapbook
Wednesday, October 06, 2010
Letter practice sheet.
Circle Cat.
Dot to Dot.
What begins with C?
A "c" poem.
Lapbook Lessons. I tooka variety of things from the C book under alphabuddies.
Each lapbook I do also has the sign language letter in it as well. :) Can't recall where I found the sheet but there are different sheets throughout the web. :)
i also made a maze using this site. If you go here, you can see a list of a variety of puzzles that you can make.

Letter A Lapbook
if this sounds familiar.. it might be a bit, as we did the letter A a while back, but I can't find it and the lad wants to put all his alphabet stuff together. So .. we do it again, but do it a bit different. :)
First we printed off a bunch of cat pictures whose names began with "a". My boy is a cat crazy lad so this made sense to me.
Then we did this page. It's a word search and a copy letter page.
We checked out this apple shaped book. Alligator Pie Poem, and a-sorting.
I went to Lapbook lessons and did parts of the Adam and Eve Lapbook.
We made this Aquarium craft simply because it's fun to make crafts. :)
Enchanted Learning has a variety of activities as well.

Letter B lapbook
Tuesday, September 28, 2010

I started with the base unit idea from Lapbook Lessons. But then "tweaked" it.

I added a bee poem/song (he put a line through all the b's)
I added a hand poem ... you know.. the types were your hands show that actions of the poem.
Then the DLTK's mini book on B

Used Enchanted Learning's B page to generate a pile of B words.

He did a couple of pages of copying out B's. This one, and then this one.
Oh, we also found what Justin thought was a VERY neat Letter B that he wanted to put on the front of his lapbook. It's all done in bricks. :) He wanted to be able to colour it, but we couldn't figure out (as in I couldn't figure out) how to do it so that he could. And I couldn't find something similar for him. So we went with what we could manage.

If I can I'll add pictures of the final product.
It took us the morning to get it done, but we had fun and he can now spell "b".

Did you know that the capital B is like a 3 with a line in front of it? Telling the lad that made it make SO much sense to him. :)
We added Duct tape to the outside of it so we could stick it into a binder. He wants to show gramma what he did! :)
Alphabet Lap books - A
Sunday, August 16, 2009
This will of course be a series of 26! After all there are 26 letters in the alphabet.
I am hoping to every week design a week around one letter of the alphabet.
I will hopefully have games to play, poems to read, scripture to memorize and so forth.
I'll be using a variety of sources.
These three to start with:
http://www.homeschoolshare.com/alphabet_notebook.php
http://www.dltk-teach.com/minibooks/index.htm
http://www.homeschoolshare.com/level_1_lapbooks.php
But I won't of course use everything on the different sites. I'll be pulling off what I think I"ll use and all that. :)
Here's what I have to start
an alligator poem and an apple shaped letter book and a letter size sorting game.
I want to make a stencil of the letter A and put it up on the fridge with "a" pictures we find or can draw so that we remember what letter we're working on for the week. :)
I'm not sure about doing this one from DLTK's, book is cute, but seems Like you need LOTS of paper to do it. So just thinking on it yet.
I used this Letter A reproducible from Innovative Classroom.
Here's a neat site! Teacher Planet. Got a craft idea which I'm revamping to make a construction paper apple.
and then I got this idea, since Justin likes cats, to find pictures of cats that begin with the "letter a", so then I went here which got me cat names, and then all I had to do is find pictures. :) Here is an Abyssinian. American Bobtail. American Shorthair.
